The Family As Community - Upholding a commitment to the student's family is vital to the school community. Integration of the family is essential to a child-centered philosophy. Honoring The Authentic Child - A child is not viewed as possessing strengths and weaknesses but as an individual composed of a complex set of abilities. Every child is accepted as a complete and valuable person capable of individual accomplishment and civic contribution. Year-Round Program: Ages 3 to 5 - The Year-Round Preschool at The Children's House offers both regular and extended hours and combines the best features of good American preschool with Montessori education. Through play, the children try new roles, make decisions, relate to others and express themselves. Younger children join the older campers for field trips, swimming and cookouts. |
