The Children's House, Inc. is a modified Montessori based school. Children from pre-school
through eighth grade flourish in the classical education offered by the school. Educational choices
include mathematics, reading and language arts, science, art, music, Latin, dance, yoga and swimming.
Established in 1971 with the hard work of founder Louise Brannon and some dedicated parents, the school
received initial financial aid from a Lilly Foundation Grant. Louise Brannon, a full-time teacher as well
as directress, retired in Spring 2006. The administration of the school passed to a cooperative of
teacher/administrators. These joint administrators each lend their own unique specialties and skills to The Children's House, Inc.:
Susan Catania - SCatania@indychildrenshouse.com Mary Sexson - MSexson@indychildrenshouse.com In cooperation with the school's elected Board of Directors, families and students, the 'Administrators Cooperative' is working hard to strengthen the school, nurture the children, broaden the scope of services available and anticipate the long term needs of the community. Our Articles of Incorporation, Amendments and By-Laws are available here: Articles & By-Laws.
